Together We Can Save Water Bodies of Kashmir
About Kashmir Anglers Club
The Kashmir Anglers Club is a dedicated collective of anglers, conservationists, and river stewards committed to safeguarding the fragile aquatic ecosystems of Jammu and Kashmir. Our legendary rivers, crystal-clear mountain streams, and pristine lakes are facing unprecedented threats from rapid pollution, habitat destruction, and reckless exploitation. Guided by the principle "No Fish Today, No Tomorrow," we work on the front lines to ensure our waters thrive for generations to come.
Our Core Focus Areas
Combating Illegal Poaching: We actively campaign against devastating, unlawful fishing practices—including electro-fishing, gill netting, poisoning, and out-of-season trout poaching.
Water Body & Stream Protection: We combat aquatic pollution by organizing clean-up drives, fighting plastic waste, and raising alarms against the dumping of domestic sewage and toxic agricultural runoff into river basins.
Habitat Restoration: We advocate for the preservation and rehabilitation of natural spawning grounds, riverbanks, and aquatic flora essential for the survival of native fish species and wild trout.
Community Outreach & Education: Through local grassroots engagement, youth workshops, and media advocacy, we educate riparian communities and anglers on responsible catch-and-release ethics and sustainable water management.
The Kashmir Anglers Club is more than a sporting community; it is a conservation movement defending the lifeblood of the valley. By uniting ethical anglers and local citizens, we strive to restore Kashmir’s waters to their natural, living glory.
