Together We Can Save Water Bodies of Kashmir
At the Kashmir Anglers Club, we are dedicated to protecting Kashmir’s delicate river ecosystems, reviving world-class angling traditions, and ensuring every stream remains clean, wild, and well-managed.
Combating Poaching & Illegal Methods: We actively work with authorities to deploy dedicated anti-poaching squads and strengthen ground monitoring along rivers, pushing for strict legal action against illegal netting, electric fishing, and the use of bleaching powder or chemicals.
Restoring Degraded & Abandoned Beats: We spearhead efforts to bring dead or abandoned fishing beats back to life through systematic restocking, river cleanup initiatives, and aquatic habitat restoration.
Advocating for Scientific Fish Stocking: We lobby fisheries departments for transparent, scheduled, and ecologically balanced trout stocking—championing both native biodiversity and the reintroduction of wild brown trout across traditional streams.
Demanding Transparency & Fair Reinvestment: We advocate for total accountability regarding permit fees, ensuring angler contributions are directly reinvested into beat maintenance, river hygiene, and published catch-and-stock audits.
Demarcating & Securing Waters: We push for clear beat signage at river entry and exit points to prevent boundary disputes, while campaigning for increased surveillance personnel across expansive 3–4 km stretches of river.
Angler Advocacy & Grievance Redressal: We act as the unified voice for both local and visiting anglers, establishing formal channels to address grievances, improve fishing conditions, and restore Kashmir’s international standing as a premier angling paradise.
